Niche Beacon Cold Shop Glass Studio

 

This position is for someone looking to become a team member at a world-renowned glass lighting manufacturing facility in Beacon NY. We are looking for someone who can work in the Glass Finishing Shop (Cold Shop); responsibilities include but not limited to working with various cold working equipment and machinery to finish glass products and some data entry. 

 

Salary: $17-19 an hour

Hours:  8:00 am to 4:30 pm daily

Benefits: Accrued vacation and sick time,  401K available after 1 year of employment

Responsibilities

Cold Shop Associates are responsible for finishing hand-blown glass pendants as part of the manufacturing process.  

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment
  • Move to Cold Shop - Remove glass from annealers and sort / assign as per work orders.  
  • Stock Check - Every day there are future orders which may be in stock.  Determine whether glass is available for given orders, as per quality and consistency required.  
  • Hot Popping - Most pieces require the end that was attached to the blowpipe to be removed.  
  • Drilling
  • Beveling
  • Grinding / Polishing 
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace

Qualifications

No previous glass working experience is needed; training will be provided. The perfect candidate is self-motivated, responsible, good with their hands and works well with others in a team environment and production structure. Compensation based on skill. Opportunity for growth.
