Selux Corporation is seeking an entry level Sales Representative, Technical Lighting. This role is designed to provide comprehensive training in the technical aspects of architectural lighting, project management, inside sales, and customer relationship building. The successful candidate will develop a deep understanding of Selux products, sales processes, and the lighting industry, with the goal of progressing into a Regional Sales Manager role within 2–4 years.

 

Salary range: $65,000 - $85,000/yr plus bonus

Responsibilities

 

Support Regional Sales Managers by creating sales presentations and assisting at trade shows and other events, including Innovation Center visits.  Provide sales support for agents in remote areas, visit agents and provide samples and product training.

 

Training & Development Phase:

  • Participate in structured training covering:
    • Selux product lines, applications, and technical specifications
    • Manufacturing process
    • Lighting industry standards and basic photometric principles
    • Project management processes and software tools
    • Sales cycle and CRM tools
    • Quoting, pricing strategies, and inside sales support
  • Shadow and support Regional Sales Managers and Inside Sales team
  • Attend industry webinars, workshops, and trade events

Sales Support & Inside Sales:

  • Prepare sales quotes, submittals, and proposals
  • Assist with creation of sales presentations and training materials
  • Visit agents to promote Selux products and support
  • Respond to customer and representative inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain accurate records in ERP and sales tracking systems

Project Management:

  • Track project milestones and coordinate timelines with cross-functional teams
  • Help ensure product delivery aligns with project schedules
  • Support customer follow-up and issue resolution during project lifecycle

Physical Demands:  Requires frequent travel.  May require frequent standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling and may require heavy lifting up to approximately 50 lbs

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Technical aptitude required; lighting knowledge preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Eagerness to learn technical concepts and sales strategy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Powerpoint and Excel
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

Preferred:

  • Internship or experience in sales, customer service, or project coordination
  • Familiarity with lighting, electrical, or construction industries
  • Experience with CRM and ERP tools (e.g., Syteline, Superoffice)
