Selux is offering an exciting oppporunity to become a Machine Operator Apprentice! 
Machine Operator Apprentice will acquire the necessary skills to operate machinery for making light fixtures in a manufacturing environment.  

Salary: $17hr

As an apprentice you will work with an experienced Machine Operator personnel, complete 2,700 hours of hands-on training over several years in areas of:

• Safety and Workplace Orientation
• Production Equipment Set Up
• Production Equipment Operation
• Quality Production and Quality Assurance
• Routine Equipment Maintenance 
• Inventory and Material Processes
• General Business Knowledge 
• Continuous Improvement 
• Local Options   

* Apprentices must complete 144 hours of related classroom instruction covering Safety, Health, and the Workplace, and Trade Theory & Skills

* Ensure safety culture is maintained and respond to all EH&S requirements promptly

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• The ability to use appropriate measuring instruments to the task.
• The ability to operate hand tools.
• The ability to operate a variety of machines in the factory including sheet metal punching and forming, drilling, tapping, cutting, bending, sanding, grinding, etc.
• Strive to meet planned work center times in ERP system.
• The ability to interface with other departments to accomplish tasks.
• The ability to communicate professionally.
• Maintain a clean work area as required.
• Working ability to apply all applicable safety requirements to comply with regulatory agencies.
• Performs ERP transactions accurately to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications / Interest

• The ideal apprentice candidate should have entry level experience in manufacturing / industrial maintenance or the interest and ability to learn quickly on the job
• Industrial maintenance experience, interest or mechanical aptitude
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret blue prints and schematics
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
• Understand the critical importance of environmental rules and regulations
• Be available to work overtime when required
