We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Die Caretaker - 2nd shift to join our team in New Paltz, NY. This critical role involves managing printing and cutting dies used in the production of custom corrugated boxes. If you have strong measuring skills, attention to detail, and enjoy working independently, this is an excellent opportunity for you!

  • Must be willing to train day shift 7am to 3:30pm after training the shift will be 1:30pm to 10pm Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Read job specifications and translate them into precise die setups.
  • Set up printing dies to ensure accurate alignment with box specifications.
  • Clean and maintain print dies for reuse, ensuring consistent quality.
  • Learn and apply repair techniques for cutting and printing dies.
  • Utilize computerized and physical cataloging systems to organize and prepare dies for production.
  • Make sure the work environment remains uncluttered, clean and well-maintained to ensure safety

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will either have prior printing machine experience or the ability and passion to learn on the job. We take pride in giving our employees the opportunity to grow and develop, so we encourage all candidates to apply!

 

  • Proficiency in using measuring tools for accurate setups.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and stay self-motivated.
  • Willingness to learn new skills, including die repair processes.
  • High school degree, GED, or equivalent working experience
  • Prior experience working with inks and PMS/GCMU colors preferred
  • Experience operating a high-speed printing machine preferred
  • Must have the ability to adhere to policies and standards
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
