This hands-on, self-motivated position performs a wide range of duties to maintain and develop manufacturing operations documentation, tooling, and methods to efficiently meet quality and quantity requirements of a variety of mil-aero grade thermal management products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Daily duties require a fundamental understanding of AC/DC motors, circuit theory, electrical principles, and the use of analysis instrumentation in the assistance of manufacturing floor.
• Work closely with all levels in an advisory and instructional capacity on the use and setup of electrical test and measurement equipment and mechanical tooling.
• Analyse and develop production processes and time standards to maximize manufacturing efficiency, utilization and reduce costs.
• Ability to interpret and communicate highly technical drawings and electrical schematics into easy-to-follow manufacturing instructions to ensure the necessary control for product lines.
• Provides technical assistance to manufacturing departments, engineering, and material control to eliminate unnecessary operations or clarify process instructions.
• Develop new tooling and investigate improvement of existing equipment/tooling to continuously improve production floors capabilities and output.
• Design of lean manufacturing layouts and workspaces to maximize production output and efficiency.
• Participate and assist with manufacturing readiness on advanced projects related to new product releases by providing processes, equipment, and tooling recommendations to support the manufacturing of prototypes and first-time builds.
• Collect, analyse and present data for the purchase of capital equipment, tooling, failure mechanisms, and continuous improvement recommendations to audiences at various levels of the company.
• Provide technical support and recommendations to both internal and external customer technical/quality teams regarding process improvements, non-conforming parts, defects, and repair/rework.
• Trains and instructs other workers as assigned.
• Maintain good standards of quality and quantity of work performed.
• Maintain a clean and neat work area at all times.
• Complies with company rules, policies, and procedures. Reports unusual or problem circumstances to manager.
• May on occasion, perform other related duties to aid other teams on request.
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Strong understanding of electronics and electrical principles
• Ability to utilize electrical analysis equipment including but not limited to: oscilloscope, function generators, AC/DC power supplies, stroboscope
• Good organizational skills, communication skills, work ethic, ability multi-task and work on a team
• General knowledge of mechanical assembly
• General knowledge of tool design and electrical test fixtures
• A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is a necessity.
• Data acquisition and instrumentation control/communication (ie: Labview, Teststand)
Education and Experience:
• BS in Electrical Engineering preferred, but years of experience in the electronics field will be considered.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
