We provide standard magnetic cores and accessories as an authorized distributor of several product lines and through our manufacturing services department we machine custom products to meet customer specifications.

Elna Magnetics, in Saugerties, New York is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain all assigned Elna machinery and equipment per established schedules and instructions.
• Repair all Elna machinery and equipment as assigned.
• Recommend spare parts to be kept on hand at all times to the PM Coordinator.
• Record parts and labor used to do PM’s and repairs.
• Assist in the movement (tear down, move, set-up) of all machinery and equipment.
• Follow all safety, lock-out/tag-out, quality and departmental procedures.
• Mow the lawn as required using ride on and/or push power mowers.
• Weed whack edges, ponds, and underneath the trees.
• Perform other duties as assigned in order to meet organizational and customer objectives and business conditions.

Qualifications:

• Advanced understanding of mechanical equipment.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to use small hand tools.
• Ability to use measuring devices such as micrometer, calipers, optical inspection equipment, plug gages, etc.
• Advanced working knowledge of grinding equipment used in the manufacture of product including surface grinders, gapping equipment, lapping equipment, ID/OD/Centerless grinders, coolant systems, mist collection systems, CNC machining centers and slicing and dicing machining centers.
• Advanced understanding and working knowledge of tool room equipment including milling machines, lathes, drill presses, etc.
• Understanding of power mowing equipment and lawn mowing techniques.
• Good working knowledge of basic math.
• Moderate to heavy lifting involved.

Preferred Experience:

• High School Diploma
• Machine repair and maintenance abilities is a definite plus.
• A minimum of two (2) years in a manufacturing environment in some capacity. Applicable maintenance experience is a plus.
• Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements
