We provide standard magnetic cores and accessories as an authorized distributor of several product lines and through our manufacturing services department we machine custom products to meet customer specifications.

Our Machine Operators are responsible for operating various pieces of machine shop equipment used to manufacture magnetic products. Operators may perform setups and adjustments on specific machines.

 

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Sets up & operates various surface grinding equipment to machine magnetic materials
  • Sets up & operates surface grinders for E-Core and toroid gapping
  • Sets up & operates Robo-Gappers for center-post gapping
  • General working knowledge of the K.O. Lee computer console including programming
  • Inspects finished product to ensure specifications for a particular operation are met
  • Reads & understands all manufacturing instructions (MI’s), drawings & quality requirements
  • Can perform all setups required to meet manufacturing instructions with minimal assistance from the group leader or other personnel with the exception of the CNC machining centers
  • Operates the CNC machining centers for the manufacture of various magnetic cores using the setup and instructions provided by the group leader and/or a CNC programmer/operator
  • Notify group leader and/or supervisor of problems with equipment and/or product
  • Sets up & installs grinding wheels as part of a machine setup
  • Ability to lap or polish product to a required surface finish
  • Perform various assembly operations using epoxies and/or glues and associated clamping devices

Qualifications

Factors for success:

  • General understanding of mechanical equipment
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations
  • Are able to make mathematical calculations efficiently and accurately

 

  • Experience using various measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and microscopes
  • Machining experience such as ferrite machining and/or operating surface grinders
  • Sharp eye for detail and a team player
  • Good communication skills
  • Are eager to learn new skills and seeking career progression
  • Are a US citizen due to ITAR regulations.

You’ll be with us:

  • Full-time
  • 1st Shift  - Monday – Thursday,  6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or 2nd Shift – 3:30 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.
  • Overtime available, as needed

Founded in 1955 as a custom machine shop providing specialized ferrite cores to the electronics industry, Elna Magnetics continues to provide custom machining services as well as authorized distribution of Ferroxcube, Fair-Rite Products, Metglas Inc., Magnetics Inc, EPCOS ferrite, Finemet, Micrometals, Leadertech (Ferrishield), TSC Ferrite International, and MMG products. This extensive range of magnetic products offers our customers standard or custom solutions for power, signal, suppression and RFID applications. Beginning in a former one-room schoolhouse in Woodstock, New York, we now operate out of a state-of-the art facility in Saugerties, New York, which provides us with ample warehouse and manufacturing space and room for expansion.
