This job role ensures all scheduled production can be executed with minimal storage of product on site to control inventory costs. This role coordinates with the Plant Manager, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer to ensure sufficient raw materials and packaging are available for production. This role is responsible for coordinating shipment of final product to customers.  This role also managing inventory levels in a First-In-First Out (FIFO) management and accurate accounting of ingredients and finished goods.


Shipping and Receiving

  • Provides inventory strategies for the company to ensure all required manufacturing raw materials and packaging goods are available for daily production and shipments in a timely manner and with minimum costs of holding inventory.
  • Supervises receiving processes and confirms release of all incoming raw materials, packaging and outcoming finished product.
  • Prepares inventory sheet for weekly production meetings to help with production targets and address any inventory issues.
  • Participates in weekly production meetings to provide insight into the inventory sheet and provide solutions for addressing any inventory gaps.
  • Completes daily inventory inspections and records status of all materials used in production.
  • Designs production schedule aligned with PO / Production Spreadsheet.
  • Places orders for production manufacturing raw material ingredients, packaging, and case packs.
  • Receives Purchasing Orders (POs) from Customer Service and Quality Specialist to create the corresponding customer production plans, confirms details for the Chief Financial Officer and Accounting and Payroll Specialist.
  • Inspects receiving items upon arrival including an inspection of the delivery trucks used to transport the products/materials.
  • Ensures that the correct number of finished goods cases are loaded onto trucks properly for delivery to customers.
  • Oversees the shrink-wrapping of finished products and indicates load-levels by trucking company.
  • Completes the reject form for product that must be destroyed – but this must be kept to a minimum by properly managing inventories.
  • Handles the proper receiving of gases (inert and flush gases).
  • Prints the Bills of Lading (BOL) and ensures details are included in final product shipment for delivery.
  • Completes activities in client portals for received purchase orders, as needed (excluding billing and receivables).
  • Accepts supplies delivered through FedEx and UPS and ensures that the supplies go to the correct department/person.
  • Makes sure receiving / shipping and loading dock areas are organized, clean and in functional conditions (Incl. trash and recyclables storage and removal).
  • Operates a forklift in a safe and effective manner to move goods throughout the facility.

Logistics and Inventory Control

  • Plans logistics for customer orders to ensure residual products are completed for the next shipment.
  • Books and confirms the transportation needs for the finished goods.
  • Completes required customs forms and immigration documentation for shipping and receiving.
  • Organizes refrigerator to ensure that inventory is managed under a First in First Out (FIFO) strategy.
  • Maintains correct inventory control and proper organization of the film room, ingredient room and freezer and ensures First in First Out (FIFO) strategy.
  • Reports failing areas in the manufacturing facility to the Plant Manager and Chief Operations Officer where maintenance is required, including repairs needed in the refrigerator.


This role requires some level of proficiency or trainability in the following areas.

  • Must have prior work related experience or minimum high-school diploma.
  • Must be a certified forklift operator and either certified or get certified as trainer for forklift operators (train the trainer).
  • Proven team leadership skills and experience guiding and directing people to complete work activities.
  • Must be able to work in a food manufacturing facility and comfortable working around various types of machinery and equipment.
  • Must be able to problem-solve and address issues pro-actively with the manufacturing machinery & technologies used in a production facility.
  • Desirable experience in food manufacturing industry but not mandatory.
  • Desirable to have experience working with automated production equipment or machinery.
  • Desirable to have knowledge of or training in HACCP.
  • Desirable to have experience working with Fresh/Frozen foods.
  • Desirable to have experience with or completion of any Food safety certifications.
  • Must be fluent in/sufficient knowledge of the English language written and spoken.
  • Must understand basic mathematics sufficiently to complete required paperwork and/or design reports.
  • Desirable to have proficient knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to comply with all Crepini Food Safety and Regulatory Compliance policies.
  • Must pass a criminal background check in satisfaction of company and customer requirements and does not have a disqualifying criminal history.
