JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for directing, planning, controlling and monitoring the overall sanitary conditions of the facilities.





  • Lead activities to ensure compliance with Commercial Food Sanitation (CFS) within the plant.
  • Directs and manages the sanitation team.
  • Monitors the daily activities of assigned staff, provides instructions and performance feedback to ensure that sanitation procedures and quality objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
  • Administers disciplinary action, and coaches employees.
  • Participants in the hiring and onboarding process of new-hires.
  • Administers policies and procedures.
  • Generates and maintains a master sanitation schedule.
  • Maintains overall responsible for meeting facilities production goals.
  • Trains the sanitation workforce in safe work practices.
  • Develops and maintains a safe and effective work environment.
  • Develops and manages budget.
  • Forecasts, monitors, and maintains to stay within budget guidelines.
  • Utilizes techniques to reduce or minimizes spending and increase quality and quantity of product produced and shipped.
  • Improves the operational systems, processes, and policies in support of the Company’s mission for efficient management reporting, information flow, and organizational planning.
  • Advises management on effectiveness of routine plant sanitation and cleaning programs.
  • Provides direction during on sanitation issues including microbiological and environmental control.
  • Provides input for sanitary design implementation.
  • Works closely with sanitation chemical provides and others to capitalize on technical knowledge and maximizes services provided.
  • Develops relationships with Regulatory Inspectors.
  • Leads continuous improvement activities.
  • Examines sanitation issues, which cause product contamination, reduced shelf life, or customer rejection of productions.
  • Supports root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation.
  • Trains and develops Sanitation staff to properly maintain our facility to comply with food safety standards.
  • Delivers the facilities to operations within food safety parameters on time to produce product to fill the customer orders.
  • Ensures that departmental tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.


  • Directly and indirect supervision of 20-25 employees within the Sanitation department.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Certification in Food Safety and Sanitation required
  • Knowledge of HACCP and Sanitation principles required
  • Knowledge of food laws and regulations required
  • Experience working with both COP and CIP operations
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel experience
  • FIXX experience a plus
  • Bilingual in English-Spanish a plusOther skills required: Sanitation experience in a manufacturing environment required, food/beverage/dairy preferred. o Experience in a supervisory/management capacity in a manufacturing environment. o Experience with regulatory inspections (AIB, OSHA, Military, Health Department, EPA, City &

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Predominantly mild temperatures in work area. Eye protection required,Safety Shoes required. Fast paced environment doing multiple tasks with a keen attention to safety and detail.
