Maintenance Technician Apprentice will acquire the necessary skills to perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance as well as emergency repairs on production equipment and building systems.  


As an apprentice you will work with experienced Maintenance personnel, complete 8,000 hours of hands-on training over a 4-year period in areas of:

  • Preliminary Machine Familiarization
  • Basic Maintenance    
  • Preventative and Predictive Maintenance
  • Troubleshooting
  • Electrical        
  • Fluid Systems and Piping      

* Apprentices must complete 144 hours of related classroom instruction per year over a 4-year period covering Safety, Health, and the Workplace, and Trade Theory & Skills


* Ensure safety culture is maintained and respond to all EH&S requirements promptly



Qualifications / Interest

  • The ideal apprentice candidate should have entry level experience in manufacturing / industrial maintenance or the interest and ability to learn quickly on the job
  • Industrial maintenance experience, interest or mechanical aptitude 
  • Experience with 120/208- & 480-volt electrical circuits
  • Able to operate powered vehicle equipment including forklifts, platform lifts and Boom Lifts
  • Familiarity with basic construction trades (framing, plumbing, electrical wiring, sheet rocking, painting etc.)
  • Understand the critical importance of environmental rules and regulations


  • Complete Maintenance Work Requests as well as Preventative Maintenance assignments that require electrical, mechanical, plumbing and carpentry skills.
  • Solve mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues on various production and facility equipment
  • Assist with new equipment installs and startup
  • Respond to production emergencies on both first and second shifts
  • Demonstrate and help enforce safe work practices
  • Able to work at heights up to 30’
  • Be available to work overtime when required
