Growing aerospace/defense bearing manufacturer is seeking a QA Inspector. We will consider entry level applicants but it is preferred that they have background in Quality Assurance in a Manufacturing Environment. Must either have inspection experience with mechanical inspection instruments and/or an above average mechanical aptitude. Familiarity with ISO9000 or AS9100 and core quality system elements is also preferred. An ability to interpret engineering basic drawings and industry standards is required and to ensure parts . Problem solving skills (eg. six sigma, FMEA) is a big plus. Applicants need to be self-starters, energetic, detail oriented and able to perform in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret specifications and parts drawings and perform dimensional inspections on bearing parts using calipers, micrometers, gages and optical comparator
  • Perform measurements for hardness, roundness, perpendicularity and raceway characteristics using Wilson testers, Formscan and Form Tallysurf equipment
  • Perform final bearing inspection on completed assemblies
  • Input results of inspection into the Epicor Vantage system and specific department data bases
  • Use and maintenance of department files
  • Calibrate specific measuring tools and maintain calibration database
  • Signoff on gages prepared by Gage Room personnel
  • Perform production line audits as required

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
  • Computer literate
  • Quality inspection experience preferred
  • Ability to use hand tools
