Schatz Bearing Corporation (Poughkeepsie, NY)  manufactures specialty ball bearings used in various industries with high standards for quality and performance – including Aerospace & Defense, Machine Tool, Automation & Robotics, and Medical Equipment.  We are a rapidly growing company with a need to increase our manufacturing and customer support capabilities in order to accommodate market demand. If you are detail oriented, possess a strong mechanical aptitude, are highly motivated, positive, and reliable we'd like you to apply!

This is an excellent position for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who is eager to learn more and grow with the company. 

Full-time position Monday Through Thursday 6:00am - 3:30pm, Fridays 6:00am - 10:00am,with occasional overtime when needed.

• Support Assembly Department through inspection, supply, and control of tooling issued.
• Keep accurate records of transactions.
• Responsible for database, tool location, tool issuances, and tool return.
• Position includes organizing, maintaining, and distributing tooling as well as working with management and production personnel to reduce set-up times.
• Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills are critical.
• Inspect, analyze, and identify tooling defects.
• Multi-tasking in a fast paced environment.
• Work closely with assembly to accomplish set-up goals/zero wait time.
• Use Lean Strategies of continuous improvement.
• Must have internal customer approach.
• Vendor development – to include qualification of new vendors and processes, cost reduction, quality, OTD, etc…
• Tooling Design – from design of concept thru implementation.
• Able to function and thrive in fast paced, ever changing environment.
• Consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
• Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments; commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.

Previous mechanical experience is required for this role, Lean Manufacturing experience is a big plus

You must have:

• A demonstrated ability to work quickly and accurately with minimal supervision
• An eye for detail and work well with others, in a fast paced production environment.              
• Strong mechanical/technical aptitude 
• Intermediate Computer Skills (MS Office, Access, and Excel a plus)
• Manufacturing experience 
• MRP/ERP Experience
