    The Council of Industry is accepting applications for a spring semester intern. The selected individual will work approximately 20-25 hours per week (flexible) to support the maintenance of a sector-based recruiting initiative and help to grow the usage and functionality of our Applicant Tracking System (ATS).  The selected intern will provide support for day-to-day operations and work closely with coworkers. This employee will work directly with our members to provide customer focused and effective support to achieve the organization goals and objectives.




    • Assists with database management and implementation of online recruiting system
    • Manage applicant tracking software including job requisitions, postings and social media job marketing
    • Updates and maintains member databases including constant contact and distribution lists
    • Assist members to update job descriptions
    • Provide general administrative support such as preparing correspondence, forms and reports, arranging meetings and tracking deadlines
    • Assist members with questions regarding ATS and recruiting programs
    • General administrative assistance to support including appointment management, filing, phone calls, spreadsheets and file maintenance

    • High school diploma and pursuing a Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management or related field.
    • Course work in HR, Marketing or Data Management field is a benefit
    • Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to communicate verbally, present to small groups and have very good interpersonal skills
    • Excellent written communication skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
    • Able to deliver effective results, work as a team and independently, meet deadlines and targets
    • Ability to exhibit strict confidentiality and HR professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential documentation



    The Council of Industry is a membership organization committed to providing prompt and accurate support to over 160-member organizations. We are a result driven group embarking on a major project that will require an assistant/intern to work independently but communicate effectively with the team. The ideal candidate for this position will be detailed, focused and motivated.   Many duties listed above are time-sensitive and have strict deadlines for completion, however schedule flexibility is available.
