    Schatz Bearing Corporation (Poughkeepsie, NY) manufactures specialty ball bearings used in the aerospace, defense, medical and aviation industries. We are rapidly growing and are seeking a full-time Supply Chain Specialist. 


    We need a strong analytical thinker, who is persuasive, good at negotiating and has solid experience in Global Sourcing.

    What You'll Do:

    • Identify and qualify new suppliers providing the following services: multi-spindle screw machining, heat treating, CAD and ZiNi plating and other processes (sub-contracting, manufacturing, distribution, etc.) as required.
    • Work collaboratively with manufacturing, customer service, production and QA to assure timely execution of product
    • Study market trends, engineering developments and manufacturing process improvements for reduction of inventory, cost and lead-times
    • Visit suppliers' facilities to qualify them as new sources and assist in the resolution of production, design, quality, and/or delivery problems. 
    • Manage Quarterly Supplier Scorecards.
    • Mentor and guide staff to meet professional and company goals.


    Preferred Qualifications:  

    • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of progressive responsibility in Global Sourcing/Global Supply Chain, purchasing and materials control in a manufacturing environment.  
    • Strong knowledge, understanding and experience with ERP/MRP systems.
    • Experience in a “low volume/high mix” manufacturing environment.
    • Strong analytical and computer skills (Microsoft® Excel, Access, Word).
    • "Hands on” approach to creative problem solving.
    • Able to work autonomously.
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
    • Some travel required.
