    Schatz Bearing Corporation (Poughkeepsie, NY) manufactures specialty ball bearings used in the aerospace, medical and aviation industries. We are a rapidly growing company seeking a full-time Machine Operator for our 2nd shift. The qualified candidate will be highly motivated, positive, and reliable.

    This is an excellent position for someone who is eager to learn and grow with our company. We will train you to develop the standards that are necessary to be successful in this role.


    • Full-time position Monday Through Friday 3:00pm - midnight


      After successful completion of 90 day introduction period, benefits include 10 paid holidays, paid sick days, medical, dental, life insurance, 401K, employer 401K match, 2 weeks of vacation after 1 year, and more.




    • Operates grinding machines to grind features on bearing components.
    • Grinds internal and external surfaces of metal work pieces to specifications by performing the following duties.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

    • Reads blueprint and job order for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be ground.
    • Dresses wheel to specifications.
    • Make minor machine adjustments in order to maintain product specification.
    • Starts machine and activates controls to feed wheel against work piece or vice versa, or Engages automatic feeding device
    • Ability to use and understand conventional gauges.
    • Verifies dimensions of finished work piece for conformance to specifications.
    • Changes worn grinding wheel.
    • Places work piece in hopper or fixture of automatic feeding device.


    • Demonstrate safe work practices in all aspects of the job.
    • Especially when working with running equipment, guarded or unguarded.
    • Reports unsafe work practices or deliberate violation of same or company policies.
