Fair-Rite Products Corp. is a manufacturer of ferrite cores used in the electronics industry. We are located in Wallkill, New York, which is part of the beautiful Hudson Valley.

We have an opening, in our Wallkill, New York facility, for a Wound Components Manufacturing Engineer.
The main responsibility of this position is to establish and coordinate design/development logistics for new wound components and assemblies, including specifying new equipment and writing procedures.
The right individual must be able to review the customer’s RFQ to determine suitability for Fair-Rite Products Corp. business plan. Once approved, must be able to establish product specifications, assembly drawings, bills of material and work instructions.
This position will work closely with our prototype shop, as well as our Asian factory to ensure the transition from domestic prototype to Asian pre-production.
Some travel will be required to our Asian factory, as well as visits to material suppliers and sub-contractors.
Qualifications include a degree in an Engineering discipline and several years of similar experience. Technical experience in wound magnetics design or production may be substituted for a technical degree.
Applicants must have a strong electro-mechanical aptitude and a familiarity with magnetic component cores, specifically ferrite.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of standard engineering disciplines, mechanical and electrical specs, and assembly drawings.
This position requires knowledge of electrical properties and test methods for wound magnetics – suppression devices, broadband transformers and antennas as examples.
Working knowledge of MRP, Excel and Word programs are needed in order to develop and maintain a database of materials and vendor sources.
Excellent communication skills are needed as this position will interface with multiple corporate functions and departments including: Sales, Engineering, Production, Quality, Procurement, as well as external customers.
