    Stanfordville Machine is seeking a full-time Stock Room Attendant.

     

    This individual will be responsible for receiving raw materials (metal and plastic bars, discs, sheets, pieces, etc) from suppliers and preparing these items for use on the machines. The selected candidate will deliver precut materials to machines as indicated on the travelers and maintains a neat and orderly stockroom.

     

    The Stock Room Attendant must conform to all safety rules and regulations as per OSHA standards.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Assists the supplier's carrier in off loading the raw materials from their truck either by hand or by using a forklift
    • Inspects the material by checking the dimensions and grade as stated on the packing slip and compares with a copy of the purchase order
    • Color codes and marks with job number
    • Returns a signed copy of the packing slip to Production Control Administration acknowledging the material is correct as ordered by the Purchasing Agent
    • Receives a copy of the traveler which indicates the quantity and dimensions at which the material is to be cut.
    • Saws raw materials into smaller pieces to accommodate each machine's requirements/capacity. Stores cut and uncut material on shelves in Stockroom
    • Delivers saw material to the machine as designated by the traveler
    • Reviews, removes, repairs and replaces saws as necessary to maintain sharp cutting surfaces.
    • Interacts with other personnel on the machine floor, administration and purchasing.
    • Must be flexible when asked to work overtime shift at the end of the day to ensure raw material is cut and delivered to the machines on the 2nd shift as well as the 1st shift the following day.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned (bldg and equipment maintenance)

    Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.  

    • Ability to communicate well with others
    • Ability to read micrometers, travelers, packing slips, and other documentation in conducting all aspects of the job
    • Basic math skill. Must be able to convert fractions to decimals
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
    • Ability to life a minimum of 50 pounds of more of raw materials, operate a fork lift and several different cutting saws.
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time and move into position which requires squatting, bending, kneeling, and stretching movements while operating saws and changing saw blades
    • Required to wear approved safety shoes at all time as well as protective eye wear.
