    Position Summary:

    Using best practices this position is responsible for clearly communicating with the customer and internal MPI teams to ensure a quality deliverable that delights all our customers.  This individual will be responsible for technical communication and overseeing implementation of customer requirements and expectations.   


    Using best practice methodology, the PM will create project plans that deliver results on time and within budget.  The PM is ultimately responsible for ensuring that each department has a clear understanding of what the requirements of the project are. The PM will work with the current ERP system,  and with Microsoft Project to track current and future projects, their progress and the impact of each project on subsequent future projects. The PM is the driver that holds the project together, on time, and under budget. 

    The implementation of the new ERP system  will be the primary focus of the PM until it is live and in full use by the entire Company.


    Principal Responsibilities and Duties:

    1. Work closely with the customer to define their requirements on a particular project
    2. Use MPI ERP system to ensure all projects are entered, and kept up to date
    3. Work closely with other MPI departments including Manufacturing and Engineering
    4. Follow projects from quote through warrantee period to ensure MPI quality and customer expectations are met or exceeded.
    5. Clearly communicate to MPI team and Customer status of any give project in a professional and respectful manner
    6. Identify potential problems or concerns before they arise
    7. Track projects against schedule, reporting status to supervisor on a regular basis and executive staff on an as needed basis.
    8. Work with Team to Develop and implement recovery plans for any off schedule projects
    9. Other duties as assigned by management


    Skills and Qualifications:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each principal duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, experience, skill, and ability required:

    University degree preferred, with minimum 10 years of direct work in manufacturing

    Technical background with the ability to understand and communicate machine design concepts and application

    Must possess excellent communication skills for liaising and communicating with internal departments, customers and vendors.


    1. Cool, calm and collaborative. Work well under pressure and comfortable with change and complexity in dynamic    Can shift readily between the “big picture” and the small crucial details and has an understanding of when to concentrate on each.
    2. Highly motivated and self-directed capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimal supervision
    3. Extremely detail-oriented and analytical thinker
    4. Able to interface directly with cross-functional teams
    5. Ability to create and review technical documentation, including project reports and management tools
    6. Able to develop, review, and maintain metrics and quality audits
    7. Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
    8. High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite
    9. A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
    10. Team oriented leader who believes in coaching and mentoring


    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but does serve as a coach and mentor for positions of others in the departments

    3. Knowledge of project metrics including, gathering, reporting and trend analysis/creation.
