The Design Engineer will work with the Product Development team to develop, validate and qualify the company’s microdisplay circuit boards, probe cards and design reference circuit boards.

eMagin, a leader in OLED microdisplays and virtual imaging technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Electronic Systems Design Engineer in the East Fishkill, NY manufacturing facility. eMagin integrates high-resolution OLED microdisplays, magnifying optics, and systems technologies to create a virtual image that appears comparable to that of a computer monitor or a large-screen television. 


  • Design and validate carrier boards for all microdisplay products
  • Design and validate test probe cards for all microdisplays to support test, characterization and qualification of existing and new microdisplay products
  • Develop FPGAs to interface microdisplays to multiple format sources
  • Maintain design reference kit hardware applications
  • Support the development of test and characterization systems for production and development
  • Support the development of product demonstration systems
  • Support customer troubleshooting


  • BSEE
  • 2-5 years related experience with electronic systems product development
  • Display experience desired but not required
  • Experience with schematic capture software (OrCad experience a plus)
  • Experience with component selection
  • Experience with board design requirements and verification (Board layout experience a plus)
  • Experience with board level troubleshooting and test equipment
  • Experience with FPGA design (Verilog preferred): Altera FPGA preferred
  • Working knowledge of C for embedded application
  • Experience with Raspberry Pi, Microchip PIC is a plus
  • Experience with user application development and troubleshooting
