  • Responsible for strategic buying, planning & participation in inventory level planning
  • Responsible for the activities of the purchasing department in procuring materials, equipment and services
  • Makes recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations.
  • Interacts with internal departments to ensure that all requirements are being met.
  • Facilitates supplier continuous improvement and total customer satisfaction by performing supplier process audits and reviews.
  • Oversees the activities of the purchasing department in procuring materials, equipment and services.
  • Ensures contracts with suppliers and vendors are consistent with corporate objectives.
  • Drives contract negotiations with suppliers to insure quality and lowest price.
  • Purchasing authority: $5,000
  • Develops purchasing, inventory and quality plans, policies and procedures.


  • Sound understanding of business law, legal contracts and various financial issues including cash flow and working capital.
  • Computer knowledge; Advanced skills in all Microsoft Office products and an MRP program (Syteline preferred), required.
  • In depth knowledge in MRP

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of Buyer/Planner – Purchasing Department
  • Create and provide performance reviews and set necessary goals for professional and performance developments.
